Physical Features of Vietnam:

Annamite Mountains

These mountains run along much of Vietnam’s western border with Laos and Cambodia. They contain dense forests and are home to many rivers and wildlife species.

Mekong Delta

Located in southern Vietnam, the Mekong Delta is a large, fertile river delta known for rice farming, fishing, and floating markets.

Red River Delta

This fertile plain in northern Vietnam surrounds Hanoi and is one of the country’s most important agricultural regions.

Vietnam covers approximately 127,881 square miles. The country is long and narrow, stretching along the eastern coast of mainland Southeast Asia.

Climate of Vietnam

Vietnam has a mostly tropical monsoon climate, but the weather varies by region:

  • Northern Vietnam has four seasons, including cooler winters.
  • Central Vietnam experiences hot temperatures and seasonal typhoons.
  • Southern Vietnam stays warm year-round with wet and dry seasons.

The country receives heavy rainfall during monsoon seasons, especially from May to October.
